About Michael Weaker

Designer, engineer, and artist, Michael is driven to enrich the lives of others by creating innovative and visually-appealing products that satisfy the universal human desire for aesthetics and improve quality of life. With both technical and artistic interests, his designs vary widely from decorative objects to inventive technological items. In 2005, after receiving a Bachelors Degree of Mechanical Engineering and a minor degree in interactive multimedia art from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, Michael joined a research and development team at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. As a member of this multidisciplinary team comprised of scientists and engineers, Michael focused on the mechanical design of a new wheel-less shape-changing explorer robot and is credited with the design of an original electro-mechanical length feedback device.

With the desire to add art and emotion to his creations, Michael turned to the field of Industrial Design. Since then, he has flown to H.Stern jewelry company headquarters in Rio de Janeiro as the winner of the H.Stern Star Award Competition -- worked in the General Motors Design Center in Detroit to execute color and trim design for Chevrolet concept cars -- joined the design team at Wisconsin headquarters of the Kohler Company to create a breakthrough product for the kitchen and bath market -- researched the field of Biomimicry (design inspired by processes found in nature) in the Turks and Caicos Islands -- and created tableware designs for Fishs Eddy in New York.
